Megan McCracken

Megan McCracken is a staff attorney located in Philadelphia, PA, where she has been working in capital defense for over two decades. Prior to joining the Project in June 2021, she was the Eighth Amendment Resource Counsel at the U.C. Berkeley Death Penalty Clinic Lethal Injection Project, consulting with litigators across the country on method-of-execution challenges and providing litigation support and trainings on both the legal intricacies of method-of-execution challenges and the factual aspects of execution methods. She has presented at national trainings, advised law makers and journalists and written for both legal and general audience publications. Megan began her defender career at the Capital Habeas Unit of the Federal Community Defender of Philadelphia. She went to NYU School of Law and was a capital case clerk for Chief Justice Deborah Poritz of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
